I still have his poster on my wall. The new children don’t remember him. Che Guevara was a brilliant man. The children must be reminded. You and I know. The world had short memories.
Yes my brother, the world does have a short memory – and yes, it falls upon us to keep the Ché’s revolutionary fervour and principles and the justice and equality he fought for alive so that the generations that have come after may imbibe the humanity and Ché’s abhorrence of injustice and oppression anywhere in the world ✊🏾
Once I borrowed a book of poetry of Ché’s poetry from the U of M Library. I wanted to read again and someone stole the book. He was a amazing poet and writer.
He was indeed! You have now whet my appetite to find some of his writings! Thankfully we will be able to find Ché’s incredible writing here on the Web. ✊🏾🌿
Che is the seed of freedom, revolution and popular ideology. Che will always be alive through the blood and spirits of all upcoming generations. My nine grandkids will always whisper his name in their songs and will spread his principles for freedom and popular democracy to their children. His death has been his eternal resurrection!
My sister, your powerful words and convictions touch me deeply and I am so grateful to this crazy place the Internet is and wordpress too so that our paths could cross and meet. Yes, as you say Ché remains immortal and he truly is eternally resurrected ✊🏾🚩
Amen, dearest friend and my Ché’s principles stay alive for all upcoming generations to be taught and applied to this almost devastated world we’re all living.. Children are our only hope today.
Che Guevara you know was, is and will always be both my personal and my family’s emblematic personality as well as for almost all the Greek revolutionary people. He’s always alive and immortal throughout all ages. All the best.
For my family and I, the feelings you and your family hold dear are the same ✊🏾. I remember my father always playing the music of Mikis Theodorakis and I grew up on many stories of the Greek peoples’ struggles and now what seems like a long time ago I kept abreast of the struggles and Varoufakis and other comrades and of “MeRA25”.
When my father was forced into exile during the Apartheid regime, he spent time training and working for the African National Congress and it’s armed-wing Mkhonto-we-Sizwe (The Spear of the Nation). My father and mother only returned to South Africa after the release of Nelson Mandela and all political prisoners and the unbanning of the African National Congress and the South African Communist Party and other liberation movements in late 1990.
My father who is now 88 years old and suffering from Alzheimers used to tell me about the time when Ché Guevara visited the African National Congress camps in Tanzania and how my father missed meeting Comandante Ché by half and hour or so as my father and other comrades were away and only arrived back at their camp just about 30 minutes after Ché had left. I have not shared this with many people but 1965 is a long time ago and I don’t think my father would mind me sharing this episode of his life. Hasta la Victoria Siempre ✊🏾
Good morning, dearest friend, and you could never imagine how deeply much your truthful and trustful words coming out your heart are touching mine, because I am so proud of all these people you’re just mentioning, Theodorakis, Varoufakis, and your father, oh your father does really so much resemble to mine, you could not how much they’re resembling to each other. He’s gone 17 years ago and my mother too, some eight years too, but my papa was a communist party fighting war rebel at the SWW [second world war] and being at the sides of the big and immortal rebel leader Aris Velouchiotis, and also being part of his team on the Greek mountains’ fights againg German conqueror during all those four years of their occupation in Greece, and he finally left the rebel party because the civil war had broken and didn’t want to spare any fraternal blood of his own comrades, even if they were belonging to the right side of the rebels.. Anyway, big, old stories to narrate to my grandkids and to all children so to understand to keep up fighting against imperialism and capitalism, the two eternal humanity’s monsters. All the best and all my wishes to you and to your papa, dear Afzal, dear friend of mine.
My sister, your sharing the gallant and principled and internationalist struggle that your beloved father fought is just overwhelming me with emotion. Yes, the great and true-to-the-people leader Aris Velouchiotis – so true and committed to the cause against Nazism and Fascism and imperialism and capitalism are the ones whose memories we can never ever EVER fade away. Especially during this time where there is a concerted efforts by the fascists and imperialists to wipe away our shared and common history. I am very sorry to hear of the passing of your beloved father – and I am even more moved and emotional that your father and mine even shared a close resemblance. Comrades in so many more ways than one! Your father’s principles in choosing to not fight in the civil war makes him an even greater man not willing to fight against old comrades and even as you say alongside old comrades fighting each. The US imperialist agenda in post WWII Greece is known to us how the CIA fomented divisions as they have always done.
Yes my sister, big and historical stories to share with you children and grandkids and as many people we can reach that they know who the true enemies of humanity and dignity and equality are. All the best to you dear siater Anastasia ✊🏾🚩✊🏾.
