Talkin’ Bipolar Blues …
I’m just a-waitin’ around,
aching for that day,
when pain flees,
scurrying away,
when I’m not lost in this wilderness of desolation,
when life doesn’t feel like a torturous aberration,
yes, I’m a-walkin’ in my shoes,
just trying to shake off these bipolar blues,
aching for the day,
when pain flees,
scurrying away:
where bright days dawn,
where wild flowers grow,
in meadows of peace,
where placid streams flow.

I’m glad you have an awareness of the cycles especially the manic. STABILITY is so MUCH better than out of balance mania. Once you get that straight your life improves even though the condition isn’t completely healed. Good for you!!! Hope real stability comes tomorrow!

My husband has bi-polar 2 and I am medicated for bi-polar 1 but not diagnosed until we get meds right. But everything you wrote is on sight. Keep these poems going.

Love it, I suffer from bipolar disorder too so I know how you can yearn to be healthy again.

I need to visit your site using a PC not a phone so that I can see more clearly the beautiful work that you have done.

Did I remember to say that I got on the PC over the weekend to have a look at your site? Well, not until now, Thursday.
Just picking something at random, I loved the image of a bowl, mended with gold that added both meaning and beauty to your words.
Compliments of the day to you, Afzal.

I can relate to this!! There’s just so much WAITING in having and managing bipolar. Waiting for the depressed cycle to be over waiting for meds to kick in waiting for an opportunity to transform our “potential “ into “actual “!

Agree. I just got over 3 weeks of depression and then a week of mania. Today is still mania/ manic but I’m starting to feel like more myself a little bit.

”aching for the day,
when pain flees,
scurrying away:”
I felt that in my soul.
